Ingredients

  • 150 g canned sauerkraut, lightly drained
  • 80 g brown onion, cut into halves
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 20 g olive oil
  • 100 g cabbage, shredded
  • 60 g carrots, cut into pieces (1-2 cm)
  • 1300 g water
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable stock paste (see Tips)
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 3 allspice berries or ¼ tsp ground allspice
  • 1 dried bay leaf
  • 40 g tomato paste
  • 250 g potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes (1 cm)
  • 150 g chorizo sausages or Polish sausages, cut into slices (0.5 cm)
  • 1 tsp dried marjoram
  • 1 pinch ground caraway seeds
  • sourdough bread, to serve
