  • 80 g plain flour
  • 1250 g water
  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1000 g whole mackerel (ikan kembong), gutted and descaled
  • 50 g shallots
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 10 g fresh ginger
  • 10 g shrimp paste (belacan)
  • 3 dried tamarind pieces (asam keping)
  • 300 g coconut milk
  • 2 tsp sugar, adjust to taste (optional)
  • 3 tsp salt, adjust to taste
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 40 g long beans, thinly sliced
  • 50 g fresh mung bean sprouts
  • 1 torch lily (bunga kantan) , bud only, shredded
