Ingredients

Dang gui chicken

  • 500 g boneless chicken leg (approx. 1 leg), cut to 2 cm strips
  • 10 g dried black fungus, soaked to soften
  • 30 g fresh ginger slices
  • 2 garlic cloves, cut in slices
  • 1 tbsp goji berries
  • 5 jujube red dates, pitted, cut in halves
  • 2 slices dang gui (Chinese angelica root) (optional)
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sesame oil, roasted
  • 1 tbsp Chinese rice wine (Shaoxing Hua Tiao)
    or 1 tbsp mirin

Steamed egg

  • 220 g water
  • 150 g eggs (approx. 3 eggs)
  • ½ tsp salt

Steamed rice

  • 200 g rice, rinsed
  • 950 - 1000 g water
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce, to drizzle
  • 1 sprig fresh coriander, leaves only, to garnish
